“For Sale By Owner” homes very often overpriced
No-one denies that, on occasion, you can negotiate directly with the sellers and save money. However, most buyers assume that if they buy directly from an owner they will get a lower price. Since the owners wouldn’t have to pay a commission, they could pass along their savings to the buyers. But why would they want to? Most sellers don’t take on the burden and expense of selling their own home so they can give buyers a better price. They do it to pocket more money for themselves. Astoria real estate sellers are no different!
In fact, as often as not, people selling their own homes overprice them. They’re hoping to find some “bargain-hunting” buyers who will be hoodwinked into believing they are saving money because there’s no agent involved. In addition, even if the home appears to be priced right, it may suffer from hidden defects. Buyers moving in from out of town to Astoria Oregon are the most vulnerable to assessing the value of For Sale By Owners. The home may be a steal compared to house prices in their home town, but may not be a good deal here in Astoria Oregon.
How do you buy a For Sale By Owner without getting hurt? Use a Realtor! Once you request a FREE “Relocation to Astoria Oregon” relocation package (click on link above) a top Astoria Real Estate agent will contact you and send you information on homes in Astoria Oregon. He or she will also be able to show you homes that are not listed and help you negotiate a great deal on any home, whether the home is traditionally listed or listed by an individual owner.
Choose a real estate agent with experience to help you!
Many buyers start their Astoria Oregon home search randomly. They see a home listed on a Astoria Real Estate site and in their initial excitement call the listing agent. Firstly, that agent is already working for the seller and cannot represent the buyer’s best interests. Secondly, you have no idea about the agent other than the fact that they have the listing. Real estate sales follow the same 80-20 rule found in most fields. Eighty percent of the agents do 20 percent of the business, and the top 20 percent of the agents do 80 percent of the business. You need a Astoria Real Estate agent with a proven track record of not just sales, but of helping buyers. Astoria Real Estate agents referred by New Quest have experience in helping buyers relocating to Astoria buy a home for the right price!

The Lewis and Clark Expedition spent the winter of 1805-1806 at Fort Clatsop, a small log structure south and west of modern day Astoria. The expedition had hoped a ship would come by to take them back east, but instead endured a tortuous winter of rain and cold, then returned east the way they came. Today the fort has been recreated and is now a national monument.
Several years later, in 1811, Astor's Pacific Fur Company founded Fort Astoria as its primary fur-trading post in the Northwest, and in fact the first permanent U.S. settlement on the Pacific coast. It was an extremely important post for American exploration of the continent and was influential in helping establish American claims to the land. The fort and fur trade was sold to the British in 1813, and house was restored to the U.S. in 1818, control of the fur trade would remain under the British until American pioneers following the Oregon Trail began filtering into the port town in the mid-1840's. -- Source: Wikipedia.com
